  Rules and Regulations:

 EXHIBITIONS:
 Solos, Formations, or Showdance routines must be 3 minutes or under on and off the floor!
 Music must be on a labeled CD, or Mini Disc.  A maximum of three (3) solo exhibitions per
 student is permitted.  Exhibition critique sheets will be available to studio personnel after
 each event.

 ALL FREESTYLES (including Scholarships):
 Material used should be based on the NDCA Syllabus or its equivalent.   International
 restricted to I.S.T.D. or I.D.T.A. Syllabi.  Any couple dancing out of category will be given
 one warning.  If the couple continues to dance out of category, they will be dropped down
 two placement levels. 

 ALL AMERICAN STYLE BRONZE CATEGORIES: (including Scholarships)
 Material used should be based the NDCA rules. No Continuity Style in closed Bronze
 categories.  Also NEW, if you have won the bronze scholarship is a particular style, you
 may NOT compete in that same bronze scholarship again.

 OPEN DIVISIONS:
 Open Division have no restrictions other than the use of lifts which are not permitted

 SHOWDANCE SCHOLARSHIPS:
 Must have a minimum of Two (2)  lifts per routine and a time limit of 3 minutes on and off
 the floor.  One show-dance entry per student, please. 
 Pro/Ams will be judged separately
 from Am/Ams in this division, and the top 3 scores overall will be asked to do an honor
 dance on Saturday evening.

 AGE CATEGORIES:
 J1 = 4-7 Yrs.        J2 = 8-11 Yrs.      J3 = 12-15 Yrs.      J4 = 16-19 Yrs.     A1 = 16-25 Yrs. 
 A2 = 26-35 Yrs.   B1 = 36-45 Yrs. 
 B2 = 46-55 Yrs.      C1 = 56-65 Yrs.     C2 = 66-75 Yrs.
 D1 = 76-81 Yrs,   D2 = 82 Yrs. & Up

 Students may dance in an age category younger, but not older than their own age and may
 only dance in two (2) age categories.  Amateur couples should enter the age category of
 the younger partner.  Juniors must dance in their own age category.  Juniors see NDCA
 rules for more details.

 DANCE LEVELS:
 Newcomer level is reserved for those students who have taken 50 lessons or less.
 Students may dance in three (3) consecutive levels within a particular style. 
 I.E.:  Rhythm-Bronze II/Open Bronze/Silver I, Standard-Open Silver/Gold I/Gold II, etc.
 Students may dance Open Silver & Open Gold.  You must dance the scholarship of the
 freestyles you dance.  Example If you are doing all Silver Freestyles, you must compete
 in the silver, not Bonze scholarship.

 SCHOLARSHIPS:
 
New! SCHOLARSHIP-A Will include ages 16-39, SCHOLARSHIP-B Will include ages 40+
 All couples will compete against each other regardless of gender or age.  Pro/Am students
 may only dance in two (2) consecutive scholarships within a particular style. 
 Couples competing in Bronze & Silver scholarship events must enter the single dance
 freestyles for that style.  For example, if you are entered in the Smooth Bronze Scholarship,
 you must enter Bronze 1,  Bronze II or Open Bronze Waltz, Tango and Foxtrot Freestyles. 
 Also NEW, if you have won the bronze scholarship is a particular style, you may NOT
 compete in that same bronze scholarship again.

 Amateur couples competing in any open scholarships have to register with NDCA before the

 BRONZE COMPULSORY: -  Rules
  1.
        No steps can be used other than the ones listed above.
  2.
        90% of your score will be based on the technique and rhythm and 10% on styling.
  3.
        No rhythm changes are allowed except in the Cha-Cha step; Triple Progressive.
  4.
        You may dance the steps in any order.
  5.
        No fakes for the man or lady.
  6.
        No passing the feet in Smooth except for the lady in the Box with Underarm Turn.
  7.
        You may use the steps more than once in your sequence.
  8.
        You will be placed last for not following the rules.

 DRESS CODE:
 Ballroom and Latin costumes are permitted, but not necessary especially for the
 newcomer level.


 
SMOKING, USE OF VIDEO CAMERAS, AND TROPHIES:
 No smoking in the ballroom, please. 

 No video cameras allowed in the ballroom on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday
.  A videographer will
 be available on these days. 

 Their will be no videographer available on Sunday, so parents can feel free to bring your own
 camcorders
.

 One trophy or plaque per formation will be given.  Each junior will  receive one participation
 gift.
